BACKUP & DISASTER RECOVERY

Never Worry About System Downtime or Data Loss Again

What happens if your server crashes or ransomware strikes tomorrow? Range backs up automatically to Australian data centres and targets a 15-minute recovery time — not "as soon as possible."

BUSINESS CONTINUITY

Guaranteed Business Continuity & Data Resilience

Data loss can cost Australian businesses thousands in lost productivity. Our tiered backup structure (see below) means you're not paying for enterprise-grade server backup if all you need is mailbox and file protection — or paying too little if you actually need it.

  • Automated Off-Site Backups: Continuous, encrypted backups routed directly to secure Australian data centres.
  • Immutable Ransomware Vaults: Air-gapped backups that ransomware malware cannot encrypt, modify, or delete.
  • Rapid SLA Recovery: Targeted 15-minute failover to minimize operational downtime when disaster strikes.

TRANSPARENT RECOVERY METRICS

15 Minutes, Not "As Soon As Possible"

Most disaster recovery promises are vague on purpose. Ours isn't.

When something goes wrong — server failure, ransomware, accidental deletion — the number that actually matters is how fast you're back up, not how good the backup looks on paper. Range targets a 15-minute Recovery Time Objective (RTO) for covered systems, backed by immutable, air-gapped backups that ransomware can't reach or modify.

Alongside RTO, your Recovery Point Objective (RPO) — how much data you could lose, not just how long recovery takes — is as low as your last automated backup interval (down to 15 minutes for server images).

DATA PROTECTION DIFFERENTIATORS

What Actually Protects Your Data

Five engineering pillars that differentiate Range's disaster recovery from generic cloud backups.

01

Immutable, Air-Gapped Backups

Ransomware can encrypt your live systems, but it can't reach or modify an air-gapped backup. This is the difference between "we have backups" and "we have backups ransomware can't touch."

02

Australian Data Centres

Your data stays onshore, encrypted in transit and at rest — not routed through an offshore facility you have no visibility into.

03

A Real Recovery Time Target

15 minutes, stated plainly — not "as fast as possible" or left out entirely, giving your business a clear business continuity guarantee.

04

Backup Is Part of the Process

Backup is the "Secure" step in Range's Friction Audit → Unify → Secure → Automate → Traction Check process on every engagement — configured from day one, not bolted on after something goes wrong.

05

Right-Sized Coverage

Basic, Standard, Server, and Advanced tiers mean you're paying for the protection your data actually needs — mailbox and files, full workstation images, servers, or full immutable DR — not a one-size-fits-all bundle.

BACKUP FAQS

Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers about backup tiers, RTO targets, and ransomware protection.

1. What's the difference between backup and disaster recovery?

Backup is having a copy of your data. Disaster recovery is how fast and how completely you can actually get back to work using that copy. Range's tiers cover both — Backup Basic and Standard protect your data; Backup Advanced adds the infrastructure and RTO commitments that make disaster recovery real.

2. What's your Recovery Time Objective (RTO)?

15 minutes for covered systems. This is targeted, not absolutely guaranteed for every possible failure scenario; your written proposal will confirm exactly what applies to your environment.

3. What's the difference between Backup Basic and Backup Standard?

Basic ($10/mo) covers 365/cloud data (mail, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams) plus file-level backup of your workstations. Standard ($25/mo) adds full VM-level (image) backup of workstations, meaning the whole machine can be restored, not just files.

4. Do I need Server Backup if I'm on Backup Basic or Standard?

If you run any on-prem or hosted servers, yes — Server Backup ($85/server/month) is a separate line since servers back up differently to workstations.

5. How does immutable backup actually stop ransomware?

Immutable backups can't be modified or deleted once written — not by your systems, and not by an attacker who's compromised your network, since they're air-gapped from your live environment.

6. Is my data backed up in Australia?

Yes — Range's backup infrastructure uses Australian data centres, encrypted in transit and at rest.
