1. What's the difference between IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS — which one do I need?
Most small-to-medium businesses need SaaS (Microsoft 365 and similar ready-to-use tools) for day-to-day work, and IaaS (Azure-hosted servers) if they're running custom line-of-business applications. PaaS matters mainly if you have developers building custom software.
2. Will we have downtime during a cloud migration?
Migrations are planned to minimise disruption — typically scheduled outside business hours for the cutover itself, with testing done beforehand so surprises are rare.
3. Is our data hosted in Australia?
Microsoft 365 and Azure both offer Australian data residency, and Range configures deployments to keep your data onshore where that matters for your compliance requirements.
4. Do we need to buy Microsoft 365 licenses separately?
Yes — per our Service Tiers & Pricing page, software licenses (including Microsoft 365) are billed separately from your Managed IT service fee, often passed through at cost or with volume pricing. Your service fee covers management and support.
